C.H.A.N.S.O.L. AKA Mr. Write

on MySpace.com

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois to Gil and Kathleen Walker, Mr. Write had a knack for entertainment early in his life. From winning talent shows at the age of 6, it was apparent that hed pursue a career in this industry.

It wasnt until 1994, after hearing Ready To Die, by the Notorious B.I.G., and Illmatic by Nas, that he felt he could rap with the best of them. Pretty soon, hed take his weekly allowance money and purchase cassette tapes and CDs of everyone from Scarface, Ice Cube, Digable Planets, Wu-Tang Clan, Common, Redman, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Big Pun, and his all-time favorite, Jay-Z. During his early years of rhyming, Mr. Write adamantly admired hometown Chicago heroes, Common, Twista, and MC Juice.

But it wasnt until he met friend/music collaborator Ransom RegAL in 1997 that he began to feel he could pursue a career in rap. Along with Ransom, Mr. Write entered a group with two other high school classmates, to form 5 M.I.C.S. There was always talk of the group pursuing a career as one, but those plans seemed to derail a bit when Mr. Writes older group members graduated high school in 1999.

It was now up to Mr. Write to fend for himself. After graduating high school in 2000, Mr. Write enrolled at Clark Atlanta University with fellow classmate, GEO. Mr. Write, who rapped with GEO at their high school's talent showcase a year earlier, formed Chi.Ill Factor with friends Prez (Prez/Ali) and KEVO in Atlanta. All being from Chicago, the foursome dominated talent shows and Homecoming concerts three out of their four years at CAU.

Knowing that 5 M.I.C.S were unable to record together due to everyone living in different states, and feeling that the Chi.Ill Factor album was being prepared too slowly, Mr. Write, at the extreme urgency of Ransom, decided to embark on a musical journey by himself. The upcoming debut album by Mr. Write, entitled Series Premiere is a synopsis of his life, talent, and aspirations within the music industry. The first of an onslaught of great solo musical compilations, hence the name, Series Premiere, as an album it is just the prelude to the many chapters of a book of artistry Mr. Write has in store for the music industry. Mr. Write, known to many as C.H.A.N.S.O.L., brings the unique combination of musical purity, and refreshing trend setting. These attributes will prove a staying power beyond his peers, thus solidifying his statement, "Few are on my level." Enjoy.
